Throughout the Nocturne series, I provide several visual representations (e.g. sprawling, mix & match, quadriptych) in aims to capture compositional structure beyond the artwork itself. With a quadriptych, this enables me to elaborate the composition by either repeating portions of forms from the previous panel to mimic an overlap, or slightly augment the scale of the preceding forms. This completely changes the dynamics of the forms as they interplay across the work. I came up with the title of the suite ’Vistas’ to describe and encompass my experiences within landscapes—peering outward towards vertical and horizontal planes. to enable many series which fit under the heading. This series is called ‘Nocturne’.
